Formed in 1998, the group invests in early-stage technology companies in high-growth communications areas such as wireless communications, data networking, semiconductors, communications software and professional services.

The five partners and support staff bring to Lucent Venture Partners a broad array of industry, operational, and entrepreneurial experience.

Lucent Venture Partners also brings the unique ability to facilitate business relationships between its portfolio companies and Lucent's operating units. In addition, each partner has a network of contacts within the venture and technology community, enabling the partnership to assist its portfolio companies in virtually all aspects of starting and growing a business.

The current fund, LVP I, was capitalized in February 1998 at $100 million. Investments range from $0.5 to $5 million.
